Tomorrow, Monday, June 29th will be one of – if not the – FINAL chances to voice your opinions about the Coolidge St / Packers St intersection as part of the Oscar Mayer project. The Plan Commission meets tomorrow starting at 5:30pm. Instructions on how to log-in via Zoom and register to speak can be found on Alder Abbas’s blog. The EPNA has made our opinion clear on this proposal. Overall, we believe we can win on supporting bike and pedestrian access at the intersection. We want to limit ALL new cut-through vehicular traffic into the neighborhood. If you register to speak and are also against vehicular traffic, please include the above points in your talking points.
At the Plan Commission, they will also vote on preserving all 31 acres of the Hartmeyer wetland as part of the Oscar Mayer property. You can also register to speak on this topic. The Hartmeyer group has been incredibly supportive of the EPNA’s stance against opening up Coolidge to vehicular traffic. We also support their fight to preserve the full acreage.
On Thursday, July 2nd, we will host the July EPNA meeting via Zoom at 6:30pm. Our agenda for this month is as follows:
1) Welcome & approval of June minutes
2) Recap Plan Commission Meeting re: Coolidge & Hartmeyer
3) Feedback & next steps from last month’s EPNA letter supporting Black Lives Matter
4) Eken Park Festival: Updates on alternative to in person event
5) Open Comments
